The Spiritual CEO (part 3 of 4) The Certainty of Refuge

Our walk together has been about "being still, and knowing he is God.":

Continuing our walk together:

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. -Psalms

Let's look at a key statement: 'the God of Jacob is our refuge'. There is a difference between providing refuge and being our refuge. You may think I’m only dealing in semantics here, but I assure you in the subtle contrast you will find eternity and meaning. God is within this difference; he is the place where you will find peace and rest. The miracles begin to manifest when you acknowledge that he is his provision. It is at this instance, or at this knowing, without vacillation: that he is the foundation of his continuous promise and that you will find his riches.

After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceeding great reward". - Genesis

So the concept that we must consider is related to God 'being' our provision. This is illustrated in the following:

Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. Then a man named Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, came and fell at Jesus' feet, pleading with him to come to his house because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you." But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.

This woman had an intimate understanding that Jesus/God was her provision. The provision was not separate from him, it was him. When we truly understand this concept than we can understand the tree of life. This occurs when the most intimate part of our minds and emotions can touch his garment, with the anticipation, the knowing, or the knowledge vs. or to be compared with: to be met with the faint faith or the hope, or struggling to believe that God will provide.

This anticipation occurs when our perception over flows with this type of understanding, "being still," now has a meaning '"..and to know he is God" - now brings about the change, the healing, or the provision; this is true intimacy.

*..."and to know he is God" is not to think he is God. Thinking causes vacillation, knowing causes certainty. You know when you get up from your chair, that your feet will be drawn to the ground by the law of gravity. When you are running late for work, you may think of how late you will be. You know that when you turn on the light switch the light will come on. Once again thinking is the root to vacillation, knowing is the root to certainty. *

Faith that brings about God's provision for our lives needs to be unconscious, habitual or automatic i.e. done without effort; it needs to be at the very root or foundation of who we are; it is when we believe God for our current need and personal fulfillment without vacillation. Now, the difference of knowing he is God, (which is the same as saying he is our provision) is found in your anticipation, in your peace (small still voice) in an unwavering certainty.

When we intimately know that he is our provision than the outcomes become miraculous, the moment you waver to find the faith, the moment you waver or vacillate, is the moment you should recognize there is no faith, or knowing - that he is his word or promise. "After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward." -God is; his request to us is to know - He is.

*The Internal Dichotomy

This knowing denotes: the doing away of the perception of separation; between God and us; (The Adam Condition). As long as we believe there is a separation now, it is in our frailties our humanity or sin (lack of love) in whatever form it takes that gives way to guilt that may arise and gives way to unbelief which is our adversary; this state of unknowing will cause conflict in our entrance into the tree of life.

The Tree of Life is parallel and symbolic of Jesus Christ, or God's provision for us which is himself.

In the following excerpt it is important that we understand we all teach, what we believe, our walk is an example of the truth as we know it, which are only fragments to what God knows and has created as truth:

All who believe in separation have a basic fear of retaliation and abandonment. They believe in attack and rejection, so that is what they perceive and teach and learn. These insane ideas are clearly the result of dissociation and projection. What you teach you are, but it is quite apparent that you can teach wrongly, and can therefore teach yourself wrong. Many thought I [Jesus] was attacking them, even though it was apparent I was not. An insane learner learns strange lessons. What you must recognise is that when you do not share a thought system, you are weakening it. Those who believe in it therefore perceive this as an attack on them. This is because everyone identifies himself with his thought system, and every thought system centres on what you believe you are. If the centre of the thought system is true, only truth extends from it. But if a lie is at its centre, only deception proceeds from it. - ACIM*
